I was able to successfully add RSS feeds to my own w850i.
For example I added the Google top stories news rss feed ( http://news.google.com/news?ned=us&topic=h&output=rss ) by doing the following.

# Go to Messaging > RSS reader and press “More”.
# Choose New feed.
# Enter the address of your preferred feed.

If you get a message on the phone saying no feed found, try it again and it should work.
