Wordpress Themes
I’ve only just caught up with everyone else online and have upgraded to the newest version of Wordpress. In the upgrade I lost all of my tags and all of the customisation of my theme. Unfortunately, I’ll be stuck with the current blog design (which I’m not happy with at all) until I have more free time - currently trying to finish up a consumer psychology essay and write my thesis research proposal for the purposes of gaining ethical approval from the college.
As soon as college is wrapped up I think I might just build my own theme from the bottom up - it’s been a long time since I’ve had any web or graphic design projects, so it’ll be a nice challenge. If anyone has any experience in designing their own Wordpress theme I would love to hear from you, or if anyone can steal Sabrina Dent’s beautiful theme for me, that would be even better!

Hi. I just did http://www.makingbabies.ie which is kind of a first draft. Funnily enough I asked Sabrina for advice on reskinning wordpress. It’s fairly easy though. I found it much easier than styling blogger anyway. Although it depends what your starting point is. If you can install the blog engine on your own site then it’s just a matter of changing graphics and tweaking the layout. If you’re hosted with blacknight they make it very easy to install wordpress. So then you have full access to the CSS via http://ftp. And it’s very easy to import an existing blog too.

I do have the wordpress blog installed on my own site, it’s all a matter of finding either the perfect theme (does one exist?) and changing the graphics and css (colours etc) or making my own theme. Though, I’m beginning to think making my own theme might be far too much trouble.
Good luck with your first draft.
