About Me
Blogging about technology, the internet, cyberpsychology and life. I occasionally post photos too.
I’m a really passionate technology advocate and was awarded the title of Best Technology Blogger at the Irish Blog Awards 2010.
I have always considered myself an early adopter. From a very young age I have been captivated by technology (particularly the Internet) and I have always been fascinated by human behaviour and communication, hence my choice to participate in the M.Sc. in Cyberpsychology program at IADT, which I graduated from in 2009. In 2006 I wrote my undergraduate thesis on the psychological effects of online pop-up advertisements, and in 2009 my postgraduate research was interested in investigating the behaviour and attitudes of Irish bloggers, and the readers of Irish blogs.
My extensive background in Psychology gives me an insight into human behaviour, in particular online, which is of great use to me for my work with RedFly, a Dublin based Internet Marketing Company where I am operations manager.
I helped set up the Irish pop culture group blog Culch.ie, and you can also find me on Linkedin, Google Reader, Youtube, Facebook, Flickr and Twitter.
“Offline” Interests
I love photography and am experimenting with a Canon 450D at the moment, the photos of which can be found on my Flickr photostream. I also really love polaroids, especially decorating my walls with them.
I have a deep appreciation for literature, modern art, good conversation (well – constructive arguments) and REALLY good music. I’m a big fan of the Irish indie music scene and PhantomFM provides the soundtrack to my life. I blog a little bit about music and gigs on Culch.ie – the photos from which usually end up on my Flickr photostream.
I’m very passionate about technology and proudly declare my nerdiness for all things internet or gadget related, and (like any self respecting nerd) science fiction too. I love to immerse myself in anything surreal and I very much enjoy sci-fi for this reason, especially the work of the late Philip K Dick and the late Douglas Adams.
